Schedule (or win) a Science Mom visit to your school!

If you would like to schedule a Science Mom visit for your school or event, use the contact form to learn more about availability. A school visit has a fee of $200 and books Science Mom from opening bell to closing bell, providing plenty of time for individual classroom visits and/or assemblies. Science Mom has more than 30 developed presentations to choose from, many of which align with the Next Generation Science Standards. You can also use the contact form to inquire about Science Birthday Parties or other appearances.

Each month Science Mom donates books and science lessons to a school, thanks to the support of her wonderful patrons. If you're in the Las Vegas area and would like a chance at winning a free Science Mom visit for your school, fill out this form. A winner is drawn on the 10th of each month, and the school visit will be arranged for later in the month. If your school is not selected, you can enter the drawing again in subsequent months.

Las Vegas Writers Conference

Coordinating. Yep, you read that right. I am the conference coordinator for the Las Vegas Writer's Conference, and this year we have an outstanding group of writers, literary agents, and editors coming to Vegas to present a series of workshops and pitch sessions. Held at the beautiful Tuscany Suites and Casino, this intimate conference is capped at less than 200 attendees and provides a wonderful atmosphere to learn more about both the craft and business of writing.

Superhero Saturday: Comic Book Fair 12pm-3pm at the Boulder City Library

A fantastic fun event with door prizes, silent auction, costumes and more. We'll have some "magic" science experiments happening in the Science Mom room.

Ologist Day at the Natural History Museum

Part of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival, "ologist" day is a great way to talk face to face with scientists and discover what they do for their jobs. I'll have some hands-on experiments you can try at my table, and there will be dozens of other scientists there as well.


May 3

May the Science be with you

This Star Wars Themed event is TONS of fun! I'll have a booth with books, some awesome science and space-themed science kits, and I'll be doing a pretty cool science demo with liquid nitrogen.
